Den’s being a Remedial Massage Therapist (RMT) is a case of serendipity – a friend, seeing the heavy toll on Den from a personal crisis, suggested he receive a remedial massage. Den took up this suggestion and benefitted so much, he received regular massage thereafter. Two years after his first treatment, he began study leading to his Diploma of Remedial Massage (DRM) from the Australasian College of Natural Therapies (ACNT). Given his initial introduction to massage, Den has a particular interest in “the average person” and people who would not normally encounter massage.
Known for his observation and detail, Den performs Remedial, Swedish/Relaxation, Sports and Pregnancy Massage, utilising techniques such as Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Stretching and Mobilisation, along with Active Therapy. He is also known for his sincerity, empathy and compassion, as demonstrated by his background as both a Teacher and Disability Support Worker. Having worked as a mobile therapist and massaged clients in 4- and 5-star hotels, as well as older people, PTSD and cancer survivors, Den is approachable, flexible, reliable, accepting and respectful.
Beyond massage, Den is a senior debating and public speaking adjudicator for high schools, along with being known for his sense of humour (including performance in sketch comedy shows on stage during university) and wide variety of knowledge and trivia. His other interests include researching and undertaking travel, trying new and different things (especially food and drink), history, culture, religion/spirituality, reading, drama, singing, dancing, swimming, walking and (Christian) meditation.
