What to expect on your first appointment
Expect something Positively Different! Our Chirpractors are interested in finding and correcting the root cause of your issues.
- Health History – A thorough collation of your current concerns as well as past health issues. Generally your health history will consist of intake forms and a verbal consultation with your chiropractor. It is important to disclose all relevant health information and answer all questions to the best of your ability as this will aid your chiropractor in how they can best help you. Chiropractors understand the importance of wellness and prevention and may ask you questions about your lifestyle and environment in addition to your presenting concerns.
- Physical Examination – We use various physical tests to determine the nature of your condition and the state of your nervous system function including X-rays, range of motion testing, orthopaedic testing, neurological testing, palpation of your spine and associated structures, postural observation and gait analysis. We engage a measurable, repeatable, assessment to discover and demonstrate where you are at, and how much improvement you have made at each progress exam.
Your second appointment
- Report of Findings – On your second visit, after analysing your findings, considering you goals and building a plan, your chiropractor will be able to inform you of their findings with regard to your presenting concerns, your nervous system function and anything else discovered during the exam. They will then inform you on how to utilise chiropractic care to best achieve your goals in addition to any other initial lifestyle changes. At any point you are welcome to ask all the questions necessary to understand the chiropractic examination, findings and recommended care.
Do I need a medical referral?
No. To make an initial appointment please contact our clinics directly.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring any X-rays or scans you have had taken in the past 12 months. If you have a private health fund, please bring your card as rebates can be issued onsite. You will remain fully clothed for the duration of your visit, so we recommend you wear non-restrictive clothing to make it easier to rest comfortably while lying down on the table.
